"Write the kind of stories you want to read."
Someone gave me that advice long ago, but it took a while to figure out what kind of stories those were,
ones I'd been looking for but that weren't being written anymore: adventure novels with
exotic locales, lost worlds, sweep and scope, Edgar Rice Burroughs and H. Rider Haggard updated for the modern age.
I like to think that the Must Trilogy delivers all of that.
THE AFTERLIFE ROAD, short stories
A high school girl nearly drowns during a bicycle "tour for the cure" for breast cancer. A father checks his mentally ill son into the emergency room. A lawyer reexamines his past and present in light of a horrific car crash that killed three high school classmates. These long and short stories focus upon events which transcend the characters' day-to-day existences, moving them towards new lives.
