Hi there, nice to meet you! Here are a few things about me:
Guess Who?
I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, back when it had more of a small-town feel. For a while I was incarcerated at (er, I mean I was a student at) Hillwood High, home of the Hilltoppers (whatever those are).

My father was a professor of Spanish & Portuguese at Vanderbilt University, and was awarded a couple of research grants which allowed us to live in Brazil on two separate occasions, once in Rio de Janeiro, once in Recife.

Later, I graduated from Vanderbilt with a double major in English Lit and Portuguese (yes, I had to take a class or two from my dad, which was awkward, but I would gladly do that again if I could see him now). Later still, I attended the graduate program in Creative Writing at the University of Colorado, Boulder, continuing the trend of receiving degrees from institutions with unusual mascots (Commodores and Buffaloes). I kept that going by earning an M.L.I.S. at Denver University, home of the Pioneers.

These days, I live in Broomfield, Colorado with my wife, two of my kids, and a couple of outstanding rabbits: Helen, a Holland Lop-American Fuzzy mix; and Star, a classic Dutch bunny.
